On Friday and Saturday, the 1st Military Service and Job Fair will be held in 16 cities in all Polish voivodeships. “This is an opportunity to promote service and work in the Polish army as well as studies at military universities”, said Deputy Minister of National Defence Wojciech Skurkiewicz.
The fair will be held simultaneously in each voivodship. The central opening, with the participation of the Minister of National Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, is scheduled for Olsztyn in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship.
“The fair is addressed especially to young people, students of secondary schools, this year’s secondary school graduates, but also to all those who would like to learn more about service in the Polish army”, said the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defence at a press conference in Radom.
During the fair, on Friday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., it will be possible to check out career opportunities in the Polish Armed Forces, from voluntary basic military service to professional service. Anyone interested will be able to talk in person to recruiters, students from military universities and soldiers from the various types of the Polish Armed Forces.
At the fair, it will be possible to find out how to become a soldier, the conditions of service, salaries and benefits. People interested in civilian jobs in the national defence ministry will be able to find out about the offer of military units and institutions and the possibilities of voluntary basic military service.
“Voluntary basic military service offers the opportunity to serve for a minimum of 12 months, in two legs: an initial 28-day basic course and an 11-month sub-basic training”, said Wojciech Skurkiewicz.
The deputy head of the Defence Ministry pointed out that, from 1 March, the salary received by a young person who begins service as a soldier in voluntary military service is PLN 4960; cadets receive a similar remuneration.
