Lubuskie Brewery Museum to reopen in Witnica

by Dignity News
After the renovation, on May 14, 2022, the Lubuskie Brewing Museum in Witnica will be reopened. The value of the investment was nearly PLN 3.5 million with over PLN 2.5 million co-financed under the Lubuskie 2020 program.

The scope of work included renovation and modernization works as well as the purchase of multimedia and exhibition equipment. The museum has been adapted to the needs of the disabled.

Earlier, there was one room with beer souvenirs there. Now, after renovation, a real, modern museum has been created. There are exhibits not only from the Witnica brewery, but also nearly 500 items from various Lubuskie breweries that existed in the region at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

All exposition is located in 3 rooms on 3 floors. The museum is decorated in an old-style with a touch of modernity. On the top floor, there is the Handke family corner who founded the Witnica brewery 170 years ago.

The museum also has collections of collector’s caps, labels and stamps that were once used. Visitors will also see a modern production line.

The museum is located on the premises of the Witnica Brewery in the old malt house, which gives this place a specific character. At the end of the tour, tourists have the opportunity to taste the beers and buy them individually or in sets.

“Everything related to the brewing traditions develops wonderfully in the north of the region. I hope that thanks to the project of the brewing museum, a lot of Lubuskie residents and tourists from all over the country and abroad will appear in Witnica soon. The brewery in Witnica understands very well the issues related to the regional product displaying successfully the value of our voivodeship”, said Marcin Jabłoński, member of the board of the Lubuskie Voivodeship.
