The EKO-OKNA company, one of the leading European window manufacturers, has committed to invest around PLN 400 million in the Opole region and create around 500 jobs. A large production plant will be built in the so-called South Pole in Kędzierzyn-Koźle in the province Opole.

The investment is to be divided into stages. Ultimately, in the perspective of 5-10 years, the company has declared an investment worth approximately PLN 1 billion and employment of 4-5 thousand people.

EKO-OKNA is one of the largest producers of the woodwork in Europe and, according to some indicators, even a leader in this industry in Europe. The Polish company supplies its products to 35 European countries including individual clients and construction companies having about 14,000 business partners.

After a tender at the headquarters of the Katowice Special Economic Zone SA, the company will become the owner of almost half of the investment areas included in the South Pole, which is part of the Katowice zone.

Piotr Pękala, the spokesman for the poviat in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, confirms, that headquartered in Kornice in the Silesian Voivodeship EKO-OKNA SA, one of the leading manufacturers of windows, doors, roller shutters and gates on the market will purchase a total of almost 33 hectares.

The South Pole is one of the largest investment areas in the Opole region. This plot of 70 hectares is located in an industrial area between Blachownia and Sławięcice. The planned construction of the EKO-OKNA plant was planned to start in 2019, but first, the technical procedures were delayed, and then the plans were halted by the coronavirus pandemic.

So far, the largest company that has decided to invest in the Kędzierzyn-Koźle zone is Foosung Poland, the Korean manufacturer of components for electric batteries. It has acquired a nearly 20-hectare plot where it will build its first European plant producing LiPF6 electrolyte for electric vehicle batteries (currently the company owns such plants in South Korea and China).
