Japanese company Daikin to invest PLN 1.5 billion near Łódź

by Dignity News
One of the largest producers of ventilation and heating devices, the Japanese company Daikin will invest around EUR 300 million in a heat pump factory to be built near Lodz. The new factory is expected to employ about 1,000 people by 2025, and in the future, it is to be one of the largest factories of the concern.

“Daikin, with its latest products, will create highly advanced jobs right here in Poland”, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said during a press conference inaugurating the investment.

President of Daikin Europe Masatsugu Minaka assessed that the European market is one of the most important markets in the world for the concern, as Europe is an environmentally conscious region, where renewable energy sources are to compete with fossil sources.

“In order to meet the huge requirements and huge demand for heat pumps resulting from the Green Deal in the European Union, we want to increase our production capacity, which is why Daikin Europe decided to set up a factory near Lodz in Poland to produce heat pump equipment, investing approx. EUR 300 million”, said Minaka.

The president declared that Daikin wants to achieve climate neutrality – in line with the Green Deal – by 2050.

“Our company wants to be carbon-neutral by 2050, it wants to make the transition from combustion boilers to heat pumps to meet low-carbon targets”, announced Masatsugu Minaka.

Daikin Industries is a Japanese technology conglomerate headquartered in Osaka with a history of nearly 100 years, which primarily manufactures air conditioners, air purifiers and heating equipment – including heat pumps. The company operates in nearly 170 countries around the world.
