In less than two years, PKP Intercity has sold 10 million tickets through its partners under unified commercial terms and conditions. The state-owned carrier’s ticket sales are handled by commercial online platforms. Last year, 68 million passengers used PKP Intercity’s services. This is a record in the company’s history.
According to the carrier, the availability of tickets for PKP Intercity connections at external partners is becoming increasingly popular. Ticket sales through the first external agent started in May 2022. Today, six partners cooperate with the national carrier: mPay, e-podróżnik.pl, SkyCash, KOLEO, Jakdojade and eTravel. The carrier reported that 10 million tickets have already been sold as part of the joint activities.
“As the sales results show, cooperation with partners under unified terms and conditions brings benefits for all parties. Partners can sell tickets of the carrier, which is growing in popularity, under clear and favourable conditions. Passengers, on the other hand, gain convenient access to the offer. We are pleased that travellers are so willing to use the solutions we are introducing”, said the company’s Vice-President, Tomasz Gontarz.
The new sales model, whose implementation began in September 2021, is distinguished by unified commercial terms and conditions for all partners. As a result, all formal issues related to the establishment of cooperation have been simplified.
“A priority of our sales strategy is to make the ticket-buying process as simple and convenient as possible for all our customers. We anticipate that the popularity of rail travel will continue to grow in the coming years. Therefore, we are committed to making the purchase of PKP Intercity tickets as hassle-free as possible using a wide range of platforms”, Gontarz noted.
