The InPost Group has launched a new connection, allowing customers in Spain and Italy to send and receive cross-country parcels via the InPost network. „Currently, the service is only available for online shops, but will soon be extended to private customers as well”, the company reports.
“We have created a ‘bridge’ connecting Spain and Italy. Our logistical capabilities and the extensive network of Paczkomat machines and PUDO points have allowed us to create a new direct shipping route. Thanks to this facilitation, we are also promoting e-commerce trade between the two countries”, assesses InPost Group’s Southern Europe general manager Nicola D’Elia.
In the run-up to Christmas, the company is reporting record traffic. Last Tuesday, InPost handled more than 11 million parcels, or more than 250 parcels per second.
The InPost Group is present in nine countries with more than 60,000 pick-up and drop-off points. Until now, crossborder was only available between France and Italy, Spain, Portugal and the Benelux countries. Now a new international route has been created – enabling shipping between a network of more than 6,000 points in Spain and more than 5,000 in Italy.
“International expansion is the main direction of InPost’s development. We are expanding intensively in nine European markets. In creating such a large and complex network, an obvious priority is to connect it. Our goal for the future is to connect all markets and build a single, coherent logistics system, which will further facilitate and accelerate the delivery of our customers’ parcels”, says InPost CEO and founder Rafał Brzoska.
InPost is a delivery platform for e-commerce. Founded in 1999 by Rafal Brzoska in Poland, InPost has a network of Parcel Machines in Poland, the UK and Italy, and provides courier and fullfilment services to e-commerce sellers in Poland. In July 2021, it finalised the acquisition of French company Mondial Relay. In January 2021, InPost debuted on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange.
