“Meet the Atomickis. With Nuclear Energy Everyday” is a nationwide information and education campaign of the Ministry of Climate and Environment, which will demonstrate what nuclear energy is all about.
The protagonists of the campaign are the Atomicki family. Through real-life examples, it will help people understand the possibilities of nuclear power and how the construction of nuclear power plants will affect their lives. Experts and science popularisers will also take part in the campaign.
Anna Moskwa, Minister for Climate and Environment emphasised that the aim of the campaign is to make the public aware that nuclear power is a safe, emission-free energy source that will provide us with energy security and a constant supply of electricity at a low price. “We will talk about facts – the campaign will present the various applications of energy and nuclear power. We want this topic to appear in Polish homes”, said Anna Moskwa.
According to a survey commissioned by the Ministry of Climate and Environment in November 2021, 74.3% of Poles support the construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland.
In the same survey, almost all respondents (94.8%) indicated the need for an educational campaign on nuclear power in Poland. To meet these expectations, an extensive campaign is also planned on the Internet, in the press and on the radio. Emission of radio and TV spots is planned for the end of October and the beginning of November, informs the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
The campaign will use multimedia forms of communication. It will include a range of educational materials, such as films and popular science programmes, infographics and TV and radio spots. They will be posted on a dedicated campaign website: www.poznajatomickich.pl.
