“The forecast number of new passenger car registrations in Poland is 476,000 units for 2023”, estimates the Automotive Market Research Institute (IBRM) Samar on the basis of data for the period from 1 January to 20 December. It will be 13 % higher than last year’s result.

Samar predicts further increases next year: the preliminary forecast is 485,000 new passenger cars registered in 2024.

“The undisputed leader is Toyota, which dominates the new passenger car market. Second place was taken by Skoda and third place by Kia. In the model ranking, the first position is held by the Toyota Corolla, which overtook the Skoda Octavia and the Toyota Yaris. Just 122 units less than the Yaris belongs to the Yaris Cross”, reports IBRM Samar.

Last year was a record year for cars in the premium market. The 500,000-car cap was exceeded for the first time and everything indicates that the premium segment’s share of the market in 2024 will continue to grow. The leader’s position is occupied by Audi, almost 3,000 cars lower result is recorded by the last year’s leader, BMW, which in turn produced 3,000 cars more than Mercedes.

In the commercial vehicle market, Renault has steadily established itself as the leader since the beginning of the year and increased its lead over the competition month after month. In second place was Ford and in third place was Fiat. The model ranking is once again opened by Renault Master, ahead of IVECO Daily and Fiat Ducato.

Electric cars are steadily increasing their market share. In the case of passenger models, this year’s registration result should be around 17,000 units, but here the competition for the title of ‘king of the segment’ is over. This title belongs to Tesla, which by the end of November had found 4,205 buyers, more than the next three brands on the list – VW (1,487 units), Kia (1,311 units) and Audi (1,176 units).
