At the initiative of the WSE Foundation, the Youth Entrepreneurship Foundation, the Czepczyński Family Foundation, the Warsaw Banking Institute Foundation, the Polish Economic Society and the Polish Scouting Association, the inauguration of the Year of Economic Education 2024 took place in the Senate of the Republic of Poland.

Established by the decision of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, the year 2024 as the Year of Economic Education is a form of appreciation of the efforts made over the last 100 years by thousands of people and institutions involved in popularising and transmitting this very important knowledge, as well as a clear support for the activities currently undertaken by both public institutions and entities of the non-governmental organisation sector. It will also be an opportunity to recall the significance of Władysław Grabski’s economic reforms and initiatives, as well as the idea of economic education contained in Janusz Korczak’s book ‘Bankruptcy of Little Jack’.

To remind, on 7 September 2023, during the 67th meeting of the Senate of the Republic of Poland of the 10th term, a resolution was adopted to establish the year 2024 as the Year of Economic Education.

The Senate passed the resolution seeing the important role played by economic knowledge education both in the everyday lives of Polish women and men and in a broader sense – in the dimension of effective development of the state and strengthening of its economic potential.

In this way, the Senators wished to recognise the efforts made over the past 100 years by thousands of individuals and institutions involved in popularising and imparting knowledge.

Guided by the words of Władysław Grabski: “Economic education is the foundation of national and personal prosperity”, we want to strengthen the aspirations of the world of economics and education for the subjective presence of economic education in Polish social, economic and political life”, stated the resolution of the Senate.
