Baltic Power has chosen ERBUD as the general contractor for the service base for the offshore wind farm of the ORLEN Group and Northland Power.

Being built by a consortium of PKN ORLEN and Northland Power, the Baltic Power wind farm will consist of 76 wind turbines, each over 200 metres high. The farm will occupy an area of more than 130 square kilometres, about 23 kilometres north of the Baltic Sea coastline, near Łeba and Choczew.

The service base for the Baltic Power farm, which will be built in the Łeba harbour area, will be the centre for its daily operation and maintenance.

ERBUD will be responsible for its construction, which will begin in 2023. As the general contractor, ERBUD will carry out the preparation of the investment site, hydrotechnical works related to the reconstruction of the quay and the construction of the base’s building complex and its infrastructure.

The base will permanently house 3-4 CTV (Crew Transport Vessel) units, i.e. vessels designed to transport service personnel. Each of these can take up to 24 technicians at a time, along with the necessary equipment. The base, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, will house up to 50 people responsible for the maintenance and operation of the offshore wind farm.

ERBUD has thirty years of experience in the implementation of construction projects in the areas of power engineering and hydraulic engineering in Poland and Europe. For the implementation of the investment, the contractor expects to employ approximately 100 employees. All suppliers and subcontractors that ERBUD is planning to use (more than 20 companies) are entities registered in Poland.

Baltic Power has also selected the company responsible for providing the contract engineer service. Antea Polska will be the company that will supervise the entire investment process ensuring its timely completion.
