According to the data of the “Electromobility meter” program, which is implemented by the Polish Alternative Fuels Association and the Polish Automotive Industry Association, at the end of March 2022, 43,365 e-cars were registered in Poland, including 21,576 electric cars and 21,789 plug-in hybrids. In addition, 1,877 electric vans and trucks and 10,777 electric mopeds and motorcycles also appeared in Polish roads.
In the first quarter of this year, 1,927 e-cars were registered, an increase of 54% compared to the same period in 2021.
According to the latest “Polish EV Outlook” report, prepared by the Polish Alternative Fuels Association the all-electric cars (EV) in Poland, despite the difficult situation on the Polish and European automotive market, will increase more than 14 times over the next three years, from the current 21.5 thousand up to 290 thousand. The share of zero-emission vehicles in the sale of all new passenger vehicles may exceed 10% already in 2024.
The authors of the report are pointing out that most electric cars, almost 23% of the entire Polish number, were registered in Warsaw.
Electric cars have already been registered in every Polish poviat, but in as many as 3/4 of them the number of EVs does not exceed 50. Most electric cars per 1,000 inhabitants are still registered in Warsaw (5.17). Within six months, the capital city grew by over 1/3 in this respect. The next places in this category are taken by Poznań, Katowice, Kraków and Kalisz, which replaced Wrocław in the top five. In the ranking of voivodeships, the largest number of e-cars was registered in Mazowieckie with approximately 1/3 of the entire park of electric cars in Poland. At the opposite extreme, there are the Świętokrzyskie, Opolskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodships, which total share is approximately 3%”, says Jan Wiśniewski, Director of the PSPA Research and Analysis Center.
