On 13 December 2023, the swearing-in ceremony of Donald Tusk’s government by President Andrzej Duda took place at the Presidential Palace. A day earlier in the evening, the Sejm had given a vote of confidence to the new Cabinet with 248 MPs voting in favour and 201 MPs against.
Donald Tusk was elected Prime Minister in a second constitutional step. Previously, MPs had not given a vote of confidence to the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
“I want to congratulate you on your victory in the democratic process”, said President Andrzej Duda.
Donald Tusk and then the individual ministers took the oath of office at the Presidential Palace.
