-Opposition has neither concepts nor experts who could create these concepts. It is simply an interest group that dreams of returning to their businesses and carrying them out with impunity and with the consent of the state – said the deputy speaker of the Sejm and the head of the PiS (Law and Justice party) MP’s club, Ryszard Terlecki. 

The Deputy Speaker of the Sejm was also asked why inflation in Poland is higher than in other countries and whether the government and the National Bank of Poland noticed this problem too late.

-We were in a very good economic situation about a year ago, or even last spring, recovering from the pandemic problems in the economy, having low unemployment, good economic results and surprisingly good forecasts – said Terlecki. He added that all this was combined with soaring prices, “which, however, came from outside”.

-And all that, like the war on the Polish- Belorussian border, was a bit unpredictable, he said.

According to the head of the PiS MPs, “the opposition would do anything to make us lose power; it’s not even about power, because they are ready to relinquish this power to a large extent in favor of foreign institutions, it is about getting rid of the government of the United Right parties”.

-The point is simply to get rid of what they consider to be very inconvenient, which is the government of the United Right parties, and to open a wide path back to all sorts of shady businesses and they will use whatever means to do so, on any matter they will have a different opinion from the parliamentary majority and the government, no matter what the opinion may be – assessed Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Terlecki.
