Cultural institutions, museums, libraries as well as art schools and universities to support Ukraine

by DignityNews.eu
The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage informs the public that Polish cultural institutions, museums, archives, libraries as well as art schools and academies are helping refugees from war-torn Ukraine. Concerts and support actions are held all over Poland.

The ministry collects information on this subject in a special tab “For Ukraine”. On its subpages, the users can find current information on the support provided, both in the material area (job offers, housing, scholarships and residencies for people of culture and art), and in the area of culture (concerts, exhibitions, performances, educational offer).

Proposed forms of support include a special program of free online psychological assistance, “We support Ukraine”, prepared by the National Institute of Music and Dance. The program is addressed to Ukrainian artists regardless of their creative area, their relatives and all people affected by Russia’s aggression towards Ukraine.

In the coming days, both symbolic and material artistic events are organized for the citizens of Ukraine. National Forum of Lutosławskiäs Music in Wrocław is organizing on Friday, together with the Ukraine Foundation “Concert of solidarity with Ukraine”.

On Saturday, March 5, a charity concert “Warsaw Theaters for Ukraine” organized by the Jewish Theater will be held at the Garrison Command Club in Warsaw. It will be attended by famous Polish artists, actors of Warsaw theaters and a group of graduates of the Warsaw Theater Academy. The concert will be broadcast on the profile of the Jewish Theater on Facebook.

Museums also offer a wide offer, aimed at both adults and children. The National Museum in Warsaw provides free admission to all people fleeing the war in Ukraine who found refuge in Poland. The Royal Baths (Łazienki) Museum in Warsaw offers free admission to all its facilities in March and April, as well as free museum lessons for young refugees from Ukraine. The Naval Museum in Gdynia also invites all Ukrainian citizens to visit the facility free of charge.

Cultural institutions collect money and the most necessary products and medical supplies. Data on the possibility of using the assistance is available on the websites of the regional Polish Radio stations, which have also prepared special editions of news services in Ukrainian.
