The delegation of the Central Communication Port (CPK) is holding talks in South Korea concerning gaining an equity partner. Apart from the South Korean minister of infrastructure and representatives of Incheon airport, also representatives of a few most important airports in Europe and Asia are taking part in the negotiations in Seoul.
The talks in Seoul are led among others by Marcin Horała, government plenipotentiary for CPK and Mikołaj Wild, president of the CPK company. President Wild points out that the meetings in the South Korean capital are part of the process aimed at selecting the best strategic partner for the Solidarity Port. Incheon Airport has an important place in this process due to its previous cooperation and worldwide reputation.
“The business contacts we have with Incheon Airport are very promising, while the current visit focuses on the potential for intergovernmental cooperation”, says Wild. Even before the meeting, there were reports that the South Korean delegation maintains an interest in cooperation with the Central Communication Port.
CPK has already been cooperating with partners from South Korea for several years. This country, due to its presence in the project almost from the very beginning, is a significant candidate for a strategic partner. The invitation has also been addressed to a number of major international airports that already have experience in capital investments.
The Central Transport Port is a planned interchange hub between Warsaw and Łódź, which will integrate air, rail and road transport. As part of this project, 37 km west of Warsaw, on an area of about 3,000 hectares, the Solidarity Airport will be built. In the first stage, it will be able to serve 40 million passengers a year.
According to the company, work on the location of the CPK airport has been completed and an investment option has been made; the coming year will be a year of environmental decisions.
