by Dignity News
The Border Guard Headquarters announced on Thursday, April 28 on Twitter that from February 24, Border Guard officers accepted 3 million people at border checkpoints from Ukraine to Poland.

The number of Ukrainian war refugees who received a PESEL number in Poland exceeded 1 million. Among the refugees, the largest group are women up to 65 years of age, as well as children and adolescents – almost 93% in total. 3.8% of the refugees are men aged 18-65, and 3.4% are women and men over the age of 65.

In the face of an unprecedented wave of war migrants, the Polish government has prepared many solutions to allow refugees from Ukraine to survive this difficult time.

On Tuesday, April 26, Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy, Stanisław Szwed, announced that almost 600,000 people from Ukraine had already received a one-time benefit of PLN 300.

The minister of the family, Marlena Maląg, during the 14th European Economic Congress said that the project “Together We Can More”, worth PLN 100 million, was launched by the Labor Fund, allowing local governments, non-governmental organizations and labor market institutions to apply for funds for activation professional and integration of foreigners.

“We are approaching one hundred thousand people from Ukraine who have started work under the special act, which guarantees a simplified path for taking up jobs by Ukrainian citizens. We have registered 500,000 adults, so the number of working people is increasing. Entrepreneurs have two weeks to inform that refugees work for them”, said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Paweł Szefernaker.
