Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met the head of the Belgian government, Alexander de Croo. “In the wake of the terrible crimes committed in Ukraine by the Russian invaders, we must consolidate, we must respond very decisively. We discussed this with the Prime Minister of Belgium”, stated the Polish Prime Minister.
“Recently, in the village of Husarivka, burnt bodies were noticed. Preliminary analyses confirm further dramatic crimes, terrible crimes committed by the Russian invaders. They confirm not only burning corpses but also tortures of people, including traces of torture on the body of a child”, said the head of the Polish government at a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Belgium.
Prime Minister Morawiecki also spoke about Russian propaganda, which directly refers to the worst German, fascist traditions.
“And that is why comparing the Putin regime to the fascist regime is not only legitimate, it is appropriate, it accurately reflects the brutality of what is happening in Ukraine”, emphasized the prime minister.
Mateusz Morawiecki pointed out that Poland already hosts over two million refugees from Ukraine and appealed to the European Commission to support Poland financially as it had helped Turkey in the refugee crisis in the past.
“For now, we are financing it within our budget, but to ensure the justice on the one hand, and to keep the European system in force, also in our case, we are conducting an increasingly intensive dialogue with the European Commission in this regard”, said the Prime Minister.
The head of the Belgian government stressed that the costs for Russia, which started this war, should be as high as possible. He also declared his readiness to take further steps and expressed his conviction that it is necessary to introduce further packages of sanctions.
