A survey conducted at 160 Polish universities informs that about 75 percent of Polish students declared that they had been vaccinated against COVID-19, and a little more than half of them intend to take a booster dose. It is significantly a greater percentage of vaccinated people compared to the entire society.
The Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland prepared a questionnaire addressed to approx. 600 thousand students at 160 Polish universities. The questions were answered in the last week of November. The rectors wanted to obtain information primarily about students considered most important when making the decision to vaccinate.
Respondents were asked what played a critical role in the decision to vaccinate. The three most important arguments of the respondents were: belief in the effectiveness of vaccines, the real risk of falling ill and a sense of responsibility for others. The fewest people were motivated by pressure from the environment and fear of peers’ reaction.
The survey was filled by almost 150 thousand students. 75 percent confirmed that they had been vaccinated. Over 50 percent of the vaccinated persons declared that they intend to take a booster dose if there are such medical recommendations.
