With Marzena Czarnecka in charge, the Ministry of Industry started its activities in Katowice on 1 March. Despite its location, the ministry will not limit its activities to the region alone. It will deal not only with mining and metallurgy, as well as with oil, gas and nuclear policy.

“The Ministry of Industry is starting its activities. We are fulfilling the commitments we made on 15 October”, said Minister Marzena Czarnecka at a press conference.

“There is no coincidence here. The heart of Polish industry is Silesia. The main investment is people, and there are a lot of people employed in industry in this region. I have it in my heart to improve their lives, to ensure better and better memories associated with Upper Silesia”, declared the Minister for Industry.

The Ministry of Industry was established based on certain organisational units of the Ministry of State Assets. 

According to State Assets Minister Borys Budka, the establishment of the Ministry of Industry in Silesia is an appreciation of the region, which for decades was instrumental in enabling Poland to develop.

“We will show the region not only from the mining perspective. Above all, we want to show that there is great potential here in the creative industries, the energy transition and the potential of people who can work hard and find their way in various industries. This is only the first step”, explained Minister Borys Budka.

“Without strong industry there is no strong economy”, said Finance Minister Andrzej Domański. And thanks to efficient and effective industry the rate of economic growth will be higher.

“We wish this rate of economic growth to increase in the coming years and we know that in order for this to happen, wise, well-considered and sensible decisions concerning Polish industry are necessary”, stressed Minister Andrzej Domański.
