The 2nd BookGame Festival and Board Game Fair, which attracted more than 8,000 participants last year, will be held at EXPO Krakow on 1-3 March 2024. The event is organised by the Kraków Fair, the strategic partner is the Kraków Association of Board Game Enthusiasts Gralicia. Honorary patronage of the event is held by the National Library.
Exhibitors with board games, battle games, puzzles, building blocks, creative toys, XXL games, books and comics; premieres of the most anticipated board games; Games Room of 4,000 m2 with the largest games rental in Poland; RPG sessions; tournaments with prizes, including a master class; Children’s Fun Zone, where parents will be able to leave their children in the care of professional animators; a prototyping zone for young game developers; a chess zone; workshops; field games; meetings with influencers and industry meetings for librarians and teachers are just a few of the attractions of the 2th BookGame Festival and Board Games Fair.
The youngest children will be entertained with puzzles, logic and arcade games; reading with Albik; field games starring Harry Potter and Operation. For slightly older children, there’s a Rubik’s cube stacking workshop; a VR zone; experiments and science labs answering how to build a rocket launcher, how much electricity can be squeezed out of a lemon, how to bring slime to life or how to isolate DNA from a banana.
Lego fans can meet Star Wars figures, a Lego and Minifigure stacking workshop and a Jodjo challenge to get into the prize safe. During BookGame, there will be the first Polish Championships in Time-Based Brick Assembling and tournaments with prizes including Superfarmer, Kariba and Bandido/Bandida, Dorf Romantik and a Time-Based Puzzle Assembling competition.
Chess lovers will enjoy learning the game from scratch, as XXL outdoor chess, chess tournaments, including with Jakub Seemann, world champion in classic chess under 16, and online with Antoni Radzimski, European vice-champion in rapid chess.
