During a press conference at the Prime Minister’s Office, the head of government announced the dates of local government elections. They will take place on 7 and 21 April 2024. The Prime Minister also referred to his meeting with the President of Poland. The Prime Minister stressed that cooperation in Poland’s security is crucial and indispensable. He also informed that the Polish government wants Polish women to be able to decide for themselves. This is why the so-called “morning-after pill” will be available without a prescription. Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced an amendment to the law in this regard.

“Women should be able to decide for themselves. The Polish government is meeting these expectations. The so-called ‘morning-after pill’ will be available without a prescription. As a government we will jointly propose an amendment to this law, thanks to which this type of contraceptive will be available without a prescription”, said Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

During the press conference, the head of the Polish government also announced that local elections will be held on 7 and 21 April. An ordinance to this effect will be sent to the State Electoral Commission for its opinion.

“I hope that April will be a good month for Polish self-government”, said the Prime Minister.

Donald Tusk also referred to his meeting with President Andrzej Duda, during which the main topic of discussion was issues related to Poland’s security in the context of the upcoming visit of the head of the Polish government to Kyiv.

He stressed that Poland would be involved in helping Ukraine.

“The issue of equal treatment before the law for all citizens was also raised. It is crucial for our government to respect the law, the Constitution, and the verdicts of independent courts.

I am ready to cooperate with anyone for the security of Poles and the security of the Polish state. This is indisputable for me”, said the head of the Polish government.
