New investments in Poland increase by 20 % in 2023

536 new investments with a declared value of PLN 18.3 billion and 7,200 jobs have been created in Poland according to the statistics of the Polish Investment Zone (PSI) for 2023. The Polish Investment Zone is the primary investment support instrument available in Poland, it is a tax relief for entrepreneurs, for the implementation of a new investment.

“In 2023, the number of decisions increased by 20% compared to 2022, which means that entrepreneurs are keen to take advantage of the support in the form of tax exemption. New investments guarantee stable and even development of the country across its entire territory, contributing to increasing the potential of our economy, its competitiveness and innovation, as well as its attractiveness in the eyes of foreign investors”, said Minister of Development and Technology Krzysztof Hetman.

In 2023, 536 decisions on support for investments worth PLN 18.3 billion were issued. The creation of 7,175 new jobs was declared.

Compared to 2022, the number of projects recorded an increase of 20%. The increased share of projects from the micro, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector is also noticeable. The share of Polish SMEs in the number of projects was 56% in 2022 and 67% in 2023. 67%.

In total, from September 2018 to the end of December 2023, a total of 2,503 decisions on support for investments worth PLN 116.9 billion were issued. The creation of 48,034 new jobs was declared.

In 2023, the three largest (Katowicka, Łódzka and Pomorska zones) issued a total of 235 decisions to support investments (44% of the total) for a total value of PLN 6.6 billion (37% of the total for 2023) and declared the creation of 2,101 new jobs (30% of the total for that year).

Last year, the largest investments in Poland included Heatly Poland – a company from the machinery sector. The investment, worth PLN 1.27 billion, will consist of the construction of a new heat pump manufacturing plant in Wrocław; Baltic Towers – a project worth PLN 858 million consists of the construction of a new production plant for offshore wind towers in Gdańsk; Robert Bosch – an investment worth more than PLN 786 million to produce innovative components for electric trucks.
