Scientists receive annual awards of the Prime Minister for their scientific activity

The Prime Minister has awarded five individual awards and one team award for achievements in scientific activity in 2022.

This year, the Prime Minister’s Awards were granted for the 30th time. to 44 individuals and one research team. Four laureates came from Warsaw University, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In total, the Awards were presented to representatives of 26 institutions.

In the most prestigious category, ‘Achievement in scientific activity, including artistic creation or implementation activity’, the winners were Dr Tomasz Michał Brzozowski of the Jagiellonian University for his overall scientific and didactic activity, Dr Wojciech Mazurczyk of the Warsaw University of Technology for innovative methods of counteracting cyber threats in ICT networks, Dr Mirosław Robert Mączka of the Warsaw University of Technology for his work in research and teaching, and Dr Mirosław Robert Mączka from the Institute of Low Temperatures and Structural Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the design, synthesis and research of hybrid organic-inorganic compounds for spintronic and optoelectronic applications, Prof. Kazimierz Józef Panuś from the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow for the three-volume monograph „Preaching”, a team from the Medical University of Lublin led by Dr Wojciech Piotr Polkowski, consisting of: Dr Karol Rawicz-Pruszyński, Dr Radosław Mlak, Dr Katarzyna Gęca, Dr Magdalena Skórzewska, Dr Katarzyna Sędłak, Dr Andrzej Kurylcio, Dr Bogumiła Ciseł, Dr Agnieszka Pikuła, Dr Zuzanna Pelc and Dr Magdalena Kwietniewska for optimising the diagnosis and treatment of selected malignant tumours, Dr Dominika Sobolewska from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław for her design explorations supporting the research project for the declination of exhibition themes for the common spaces of the individual Clusters at Expo 2015, the distribution of service and commercial spaces at Expo 2015 and her overall scientific and artistic activities.
