Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs comments on the real threat of Russian military actions

by DignityNews.eu

Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz said that a threat of military action by Russia is real. If diplomatic actions do not bring results, Poland should take into account that there will be escalation from Russia. “We must also be aware that today’s war does not have to mean typical military actions”, added the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the information provided by the Conflict Intelligence Team analytical portal, in the last 24 hours, Russian soldiers have been regrouped not only to oblasts in Russia bordering with Ukraine, and also to Belarus, in the immediate vicinity of the Polish border. On the evening of Tuesday, January 25, the 217th Russian Airborne Regiment arrived in Brest, a city bordering Poland and 50 km away from Ukraine.

Officially, the Russian defense ministry explains that the transfer of troops is related to the Russian-Belarusian exercises planned for February, and the Kremlin rejects the accusations that it is preparing an attack on Ukraine.

Meanwhile, analysts from the American magazine “Foreign Affairs” are convinced that “a full-scale attack on Ukraine” is very likely.

President Andrzej Duda called an urgent session of the National Security Council for Friday, January 28. Representatives of all clubs and groups in the Sejm have already declared their willingness to participate in this meeting. During the meeting, the president will present “the situation in Ukraine and listen to the proposals of all Polish political forces regarding state security.”
