New version of the Integrated Agricultural Market Information System to be developed

by Dignity News
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has signed a contract with Polish Security Printing Works to develop new IT software for the Integrated Agricultural Market Information System.

The main task of the Integrated Agricultural Market Information System is the ongoing monitoring of prices of agri-food products in Poland. Market data, collected within the System, are periodically (weekly) and published on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture (https://www.gov.pl/web/rolnictwo/biuletyny-informacyjne) in the form of information bulletins.

They constitute a very important source of current price information used mainly by farmers and entrepreneurs operating on the agri-food market.

Software developed over 20 years ago is currently used as a tool for collecting and processing data within the Integrated Agricultural Market Information System. Unfortunately, as the Ministry emphasises, its functionalities no longer meet the expectations and needs of users, both on the part of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development experts and entrepreneurs who submit data to the System on a weekly basis.

Polish Security Printing Works S.A. will develop a new tool that will result in a significant improvement in the functioning of the System by, among others: streamlining the data transfer process, reducing the number of errors made, speeding up data processing and report development.

The new software, which is expected to be operational from July 2024, will allow easier access to the market data collected within the System for all interested recipients by providing an online market data portal. This will not only provide the opportunity to download ready-made market reports, but also to generate them themselves according to their own needs.
