Polish Industry Day 2023: opportunities for cooperation between Polish entrepreneurs and NATO

by Dignity News
250 Polish entrepreneurs from the IT/ICT, logistics, construction, transport and freight, defence and defence services sectors took part in the Polish Industry Day 2023 conference, organised by the Ministry of Development and Technology and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development.

Apart from training and workshops for entrepreneurs, Polish Industry Day 2023 is an event aimed at bringing the international public procurement market closer to Polish companies. The theme of the conference was cooperation with NATO agencies and tenders announced by international institutions.

“Public procurement by international organisations, including procurements by individual NATO agencies, is a safe path for the internationalisation of companies. An increasing number of entrepreneurs are excelling in their cooperation with NATO and I believe that it will grow,’ said Deputy Minister for Development and Technology Kamila Król at the opening of the conference.

Purchases for NATO are financed, among others, from the organisation’s budget, national budgets and the Security Investment Programme. This programme is used to jointly finance projects related to the expansion, modernisation and renovation of the Alliance’s military infrastructure, which includes such elements as airports, telecommunications installations, command and control systems, fuel and lubricant depots, fuel pipelines, radar warning and navigation equipment, and port installations.

Many of NATO’s purchases also relate to everyday goods and services, e.g. IT infrastructure, office infrastructure, consultancy services. They are carried out on a competitive basis – announcing tenders in which companies from all NATO member states can participate.

Poland has been a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) since 1999 and since then our entrepreneurs have been able to be suppliers of goods and contractors of services to the structures of this organisation.
