PERN S.A., the State Treasury company responsible for the logistics of petroleum products, has increased its diesel storage capacity by a quarter of a million cubic metres. New tanks have been built at four depots owned by the company. The investment is worth more than PLN 300 million.
‘Today we are opening tanks that are a fuel window to the world’, said the company’s president Mirosław Skowron during the investment completion ceremony. The project to build 8 new tanks involved a total of almost 100 subcontractor companies executing orders for leading consortia in individual locations.
The completed project was part of the company’s strategy. It is the fourth stage of the development of fuel depots. In total, PERN has so far built 28 new tanks for petroleum products, increasing its storage resources by more than a third. The total capacity of the fuel depots is already over 2.5 million cubic metres
Each of the eight new tanks has a capacity of 32,000 cubic metres. At the Boronów base, two tanks were created, thanks to which the capacity of the base increased by 44 %. At the Rejowiec base, three new tanks were created. At the same time, the logistics infrastructure there was modernised.
In Debogórz, two new tanks were built and connected to existing process pipelines. In Nowa Wieś Wielka, PERN built a tank together with a pipeline. This allows the simultaneous takeover of diesel from Plock and extrusion of the product to the Rejowiec depot, which was previously impossible.
In addition, several investments were carried out in Nowa Wieś Wielka, such as the modernisation of the fire pumping station, internal tracks and the replacement of tanks for the storage of biocomponents and fuel additives.
