According to the Electromobility Counter report, prepared by the experts from the Polish Automotive Industry Association (PZPM) and the Polish Automotive Alternative Fuels Association, at the end of September, 50 thousand 386 fully electric passenger and commercial vehicles (BEVs, battery electric vehicles) were registered in Poland. This is an increase from the beginning of the year by 16 thousand 971 units, or 57 %.

The report states that 87,724 electrically powered passenger cars operated on Polish roads at the end of September this year, while fully-electric passenger cars (BEVs) amounted to 45,198 units. The plug-in hybrids totalled 42,526 units and the number of electric vans and trucks was 5,212 units.

The number of electric mopeds and motorbikes is also growing steadily, with 18,000 922 units at the end of September, as well as the number of hybrid cars and vans, which rose to 619,122 units. At the end of last month, Poland’s electric bus fleet increased to 1006.

“September was a symbolic month for the Polish electromobility sector. The total number of electric buses in our country is already over 1,000 units. The same limit was also exceeded by the number of fast, publicly available DC charging stations. Since the beginning of the year, more than 250 such chargers have been installed in Poland, and their share in the charging infrastructure network has increased from 29 % to 33 %, said PSPA managing director Maciej Mazur.

The report’s creators note that in parallel to the fleet of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure is developing. At the end of September this year, there were 3,000 68 publicly available electric vehicle charging stations in Poland. 33 % of them were fast direct current (DC) charging stations and 67 % were slow alternating current (AC) chargers with a capacity of 22 kW or less.
