PGE Energia Odnawialna, responsible in the PGE Group for renewable energy sources (RES), has commissioned two large PV Gutki and PV Gutki 2 photovoltaic farms with a total installed capacity of 12 MW. The estimated value of the investments is approximately PLN 53.5 million.
“Our new photovoltaic power plants in Podlasie are the next stage of our investment in solar energy. This project was developed from scratch by PGE Energia Odnawialna. It was realised using state-of-the-art photovoltaic modules with a capacity of over 540 watts each. Their technical parameters allow for high productivity in weather conditions typical of climatic zones found in Poland”, says Marcin Karlikowski, President of PGE Energia Odnawialna.
The newly commissioned power plants were built on 15.7 hectares of leased land. They comprise approximately 22,000 monocrystalline panels, 42 250 kW inverters and 6 transformer stations. According to estimates, they will produce, more than 14 GWh of ‘green’ energy per year, corresponding to the demand of approximately 7 000 households. The construction was co-financed with funds from the EU Cohesion Fund under the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme 2014-2020.
PGE is the leader of the domestic electricity and system heat market in Poland. A member of the PGE Capital Group, PGE Energia Odnawialna is the largest producer of green energy in Poland. Its generation portfolio includes 21 wind farms, 29 hydroelectric power plants, 4 pumped storage power plants and 29 photovoltaic farms. The total installed capacity of all installations is approximately 2478 MW, but PGE OE is continuously expanding its RES generation portfolio.
By the end of 2023. PGE Group, which aims to have 3,000 MW in PV by the end of the decade, will operate or have under construction solar power plants with a total capacity of around 500 MW. In the following years, this process will continue.
