President states Second Polish Republic had its Gdynia, we have the Central Communication Port

by Dignity News
A conference summarising the work to date on the Central Communication Port (CPK) was held in Warsaw. The conceptual design of the CPK terminal and station is ready, and the construction project is being prepared. The company has purchased over 1,000 hectares of land for investment. Geological drilling, demolition work and removals are underway. The procedure for the selection of a financial partner for the airport part has entered a decisive phase. The master plan, environmental decision, General Plan and aeronautical agreements are ready. Designing and obtaining agreements for almost 500 km of railway lines, including the High-Speed Railway between Warsaw and Łódź, is also underway.

“I have often been asked “when the first shovel”. In the meantime, not one shovel, but many shovels, have already been used and the work is ongoing. This has been happening for many months, consistently, daily and not in the spotlight. Contrary to some criticisms and repeated untruths, we have moved from words to deeds: from the planning phase to design and implementation. This infrastructure project will improve the lives of Polish citizens and will be profitable for the economy”, convinced Marcin Horała, Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, Government Plenipotentiary for CPK.

“The future CPK airport will be one of the largest in Europe and in the world, and this is something that many do not like. This is one of the projects that I consider to be absolutely the most important. The second comparable one is nuclear power plants”, said President Andrzej Duda said during the conference. He described the investment as a treasure and pointed out that “35,000 jobs are to be created in the port itself and in its immediate vicinity”.

In his speech, Andrzej Duda emphasised that “the Second Republic had its Gdynia, a port, a city or a shipyard that was built on sand from a tiny fishing village. Now we have a plan and a CPK investment underway”.

The first phase of CPK airport, two runways and infrastructure with a capacity of up to 40 million passengers, is scheduled to be operational by 2028.
