NASK National Research Institute cooperating with the University of Technology Sydney

The letter of intent between the National Research Institute NASK and the University of Technology Sydney provides for the development of modern information technologies, interdisciplinary research and exchange of experience.

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is one of the world’s leading universities in computer science and telecommunications, ranking in the top 20 in both disciplines in the Academic Ranking of World Universities. UTS operates with strong links to the industrial market.

As part of their cooperation, NASK and UTS intend to develop state-of-the-art IT technologies and organisational solutions and transfer them to the market. The agreement also assumes conducting joint, interdisciplinary research, organising research internships, participating in joint projects and programmes, and exchanging experience in areas covered by joint research and projects. NASK and UTS also intend to jointly seek funding for activities from public sources and to organise seminars and scientific conferences.

Last year, NASK signed an agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) brings together more than 1,200 people in over 900 projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning, computer imaging, cryptography, computer networks and robotics.

NASK conducts scientific research in the area of cyber-security and artificial intelligence contributing to the development of information technologies serving society, carries out teaching activities, acts as one of three CSIRTs (Computer Security Incident Response Teams) nationwide, and performs numerous tasks in the digitisation of the Polish public space.
