Polish President to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos

President Andrzej Duda has arrived in Switzerland, where he is taking part in the World Economic Forum in Davos from 17 January. According to the head of the President’s Office for International Politics, Marcin Przydacz, the Polish President’s talks in Davos will focus on security and economic issues related to Russia’s war against Ukraine and the problems caused by the pandemic. The President will also promote Polish entrepreneurship.

This year’s World Economic Forum is taking place under the sign of talks on a divided world, which is recovering from an economic malaise after the pandemic and is not without all sorts of challenges, including those of a security nature”, said Marcin Przydacz before Andrzej Duda’s departure for Davos.

In addition to public speeches, President Duda will take part in pan-European discussions, including with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The Polish President is also scheduled to participate in discussions: “In Defence of Europe”, “The pathway to Euro-pean energy sovereignty”, “NATO on the road to the 2023 Vilnius Summit”, “European leadership in a Fragmented World”, IGWEL “Preparing for a New Geopolitical Era” and the session “Restoring Security and Peace”.

‘We want the conversation on the challenges of the nature of security and eastern policy, economic policy, to focus also on contacts with partners from Europe and further abroad’, said Marcin Przydacz.

President Andrzej Duda will also attend the opening of an exhibition on Russian war crimes in Ukraine. On Tuesday, 17 January, he will meet the Presidents of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and Latvia Egils Levits, and on 18 January he will meet the President of Switzerland Alain Berset and the President of IBM for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Ana Paula Assis.
