Minister of National Defence Mariusz Blaszczak inaugurated the second ‘Train with the Army’ project. On the initiative of the Ministry of Defence and the Polish Army, free one-day military training courses for volunteers will be organised throughout Poland until 25 February. The second project is being held under the slogan ‘Train with the army during winter holidays’.
“These classes are aimed primarily at training in the basic principles of operating weapons, principles of survival, medical assistance, principles of combat in close contact, i.e. all that is needed to respond appropriately and effectively in a crisis situation”, said Mariusz Błaszczak on Saturday in Tomaszów Mazowiecki.
In 31 military units across Poland, military instructors will teach the participants the basics of using weapons, shooting, hand-to-hand combat, survival in difficult conditions, navigating in the field, medical assistance, behaviour during alarm and gunfire and many other skills. The training is designed to teach proper emergency and crisis habits and improve safety and confidence. During the training, the units will provide participants with food and insurance.
“Thank you very much to all those who accept our offer. Our aim is to train as many people as possible but also to encourage young people to join the Polish Army. I am very pleased that during my visit to Tomaszow Mazowiecki and conversations with people who applied, I met so many young people who bind their future to the Polish Army”, the head of the defence ministry noted.
The minister encouraged people to take part in the project, and assured them that the training sessions, organised over seven consecutive Saturdays, are conducted by experienced Polish Army instructors, including many participants in missions abroad. On the first Saturday, classes were held in Zamość, Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Rzeszow, Ustka, Bielsko-Biala and Wesola near Warsaw.
