Ukrainian President: Poland and Lithuania become an attractive target for Russian aggression

by Dignity News
“Never before have our countries been so united as they are now. This will remain in the memory of our societies. What happened between the Polish and Ukrainian peoples cannot be lost”, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski on Polish Television.

The Ukrainian leader was asked by the TVP correspondent what were the results of the recent summit of the Lublin Triangle states in Lviv. Volodymyr Zelenski, assessing the meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, said that “our societies support each other, they follow an understandable geopolitical path, they follow this path together, in one direction. It is necessary to keep this issue on the agenda, on the table, because we are friends and we cannot squander these relations”, he stressed.

He noted that Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine define all risks in the same way. „There is an enemy, currently it is the aggression of the Russian Federation, which has hit Ukraine. This attack is against our common values. If Ukraine does not repel this aggression, this aggression can spread further, unfortunately hitting our friends from the Lublin Triangle”, warned Zelenski.

„They represent an attractive target for Russian aggression both historically and from the point of view of Russia’s current imperial inclinations. It is very important that we maintain such strategic relations. Poland and Lithuania are the first countries that have come with support, have provided assistance and are continuing to do so”, stressed the Ukrainian president.

The guest of Polish Television once again thanked the Polish authorities and society for their attitude towards Ukraine and Ukrainians. “Poland surprised us with its hug, took us in its arms. You did it selflessly, you took in millions of Ukrainians. I am grateful to the team of the President, the Prime Minister and the Polish people for their approach. It was extremely nice and touching”, stated Zelenski.
