The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) will allocate PLN 50 million for the establishment of a hydrogen bus factory in the Świdnica Activity Zone. The buses will be manufactured by the company PAK-PCE Polski Autobus Wodorowy.
The construction of the plant and the associated infrastructure will be completed by July 2024 at the latest and 100 NesoBus buses are to be produced there annually.
The NesoBus is an all-new zero-emission hydrogen city bus manufactured in Poland. Powered by green hydrogen, it is the most eco-friendly bus for city dwellers and urban transport. It was created by Polish designers and engineers in cooperation with partners from Europe and the world. It is 12 m long, for 93 people, including up to 37 seats, has a range of about 450 km, cleans the air and the only thing it emits is water vapour.
The design of NesoBus, the Polish hydrogen bus, is created from scratch as a hydrogen bus – it is not a conversion or modification of a combustion or battery bus. Hydrogen combustion by NesoBus (Neso is an acronym for the first letters of the phrase ” Nie Emituje Spalin i Oczyszcza”) is intended to be competitive with other manufacturers. In parallel, the air-conditioning and heating system with very efficient air distribution throughout the vehicle will significantly reduce the system’s need for electricity and thus the overall energy consumption of the bus.
The funds from NFOŚiGW co-financing will be earmarked for the construction of a production hall and the introduction and installation of accompanying infrastructure – devices, instrumentation, tools, and equipment for the production of parts, welding, preparation of the body, assembly of the bus, quality control, preparation for sale, warehouses, a service station, as well as a hydrogen refuelling station – which will make it possible to organise the entire production.
