Development of the Renewable Energy Sources (RES) Sector in Poland and the presentation of the effect of the work under the Sectoral Agreements on Offshore Wind Energy, Biogas and Biomethane and Photovoltaics, initiated by the Ministry of Climate and Environment, were the main objectives of the Conference of the Parties to the Sectoral Agreements, held on 22 November 2022 in Warsaw.
The event was organised under the auspices of the Prime Minister. It was attended by Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moskwa, Government Plenipotentiary for RES Ireneusz Zyska, Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda and representatives of RES industries.
During the Conference, the participants presented the results of the work carried out so far within the working groups of the individual Agreements, as well as the planned activities for the development of modern sectors that create a competitive advantage for the Polish economy and strengthen its security and energy sovereignty.
Minister for Climate and Environment Anna Moskwa announced changes to the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management’s ‘My Current’ programme.
“Looking at the development of photovoltaics, we have decided to increase the co-financing under the ‘My Current’ programme – it is 6,000 PLN for photovoltaic panels and 16,000 PLN for energy storage. The change will apply to beneficiaries of the 4th programme,” said Anna Moskwa.
The government plenipotentiary for renewable energy sources, Ireneusz Zyska, stated that renewable energy sources are the energy of freedom. As he reminded, since 2020, the installed capacity of renewable sources has increased by more than 8.5 GW to reach 21 GW.
The conference was also attended by a representative of the International Energy Agency – Christophe McGlade, Head of the Energy Supply Unit, who spoke with great appreciation of Polish achievements in the development of renewable energy.
