The Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg, has approved the Care 75+ programme for 2023. As part of the programme, municipalities with up to 60,000 inhabitants can benefit from subsidies for the provision of care services, including specialised ones.
The aim of the programme is to improve accessibility to care services, including specialised care services, for people aged 75 and older who are single or are single-parent families”, says Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.
The programme is addressed to all municipalities in Poland – urban, rural, urban-rural subjects with up to 60,000 inhabitants. Municipalities can apply for funding (up to 60 % of the expected cost of the task) for providing care services, including specialist care services.
As reported by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy, municipalities may benefit from support if a given service is provided by themselves, e.g. by employees of a social welfare centre or social services centre, or if they outsource the implementation of the task to non-governmental organisations or purchase care services from private sector operators.
The Ministry of Family and Social Policy has been implementing the Care 75+ programme since 2018. In the first year, above PLN 4.3 million was allocated for the programme, and 394 municipalities participated in it. More than 2,800 people received assistance. Last year, 570 municipalities already participated in the programme, providing assistance to nearly 9.4 thousand senior citizens. Last year, the programme’s budget amounted to almost PLN 22.5 million. This year, it increased to over PLN 38 million. Funds from the programme were allocated to 616 municipalities, which provide care services to more than 9.5 thousand people.
