Minister of Education and Science confirms positive matriculation results

by Dignity News
According to the Minister of Education and Science, Przemyslaw Czarnek, this year’s matriculation exams brought better results than last year. “The examinations were held according to the same requirements that were set on 16 December 2020, reducing slightly the scope of the material necessary to pass the examinations. For this reason, this outcome is different from the results in 2020 but better than last year”, said Minister Czarnek.

Secondary school graduates will find out the results of their exams on Tuesday. They can check them in the online system. Their results are also put down on their secondary school certificates, which they can take from school. More than 289,000 graduates of secondary schools and technical schools took their exams in May.

Minister Czarnek assessed that this year’s school-leaving examinations, as predicted by the ministry, were performed better than last year’s, among other reasons due to the stationary mode of study.

Secondary school leavers prepared for the exams in school together with their teachers in the normal way. The previous year included mostly the remote mode so, necessarily, this preparation had to be done by the students themselves or, possibly, by students and tutors”, said the head of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Minister Czarek pointed out that this year’s baccalaureate exams were held according to the same examination requirements, which the ministry set on 16 December 2020, slightly limiting the scope of material necessary to pass the exams due to the pandemic and remote learning that prevailed at the time. For this reason, this result is different from two years ago but better than last year.

In his interview, Minister Czarnek raised the topic of a possible return to remote learning in the new school year.

“We do not have any signals from the Ministry of Health or the sanitary services to indicate that we are in any way threatened with a reduction in stationary learning. We are preparing for full stationary mode as we did last year”, announced Przemysław Czarnek.
