The winners of the Festival “Jawor at the Sources of Culture” 2022 were the Silesian Folk Song Ensemble “Silesia” in the folk ensemble category, Andrzej Budz in the soloist category and Małgorzata Mateja in the folk handicraft category were.
The winners of the Festival “Jawor at the source of culture” 2022 were selected from among the winners of local competitions conducted by the Regional Broadcasting Stations of the Polish Radio. The selection was made by a nationwide jury consisting of experts indicated by the organisers of local competitions.
14 Regional Polish Radio Stations joined the competition. 39 finalists of regional contests competed for the award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Professor Piotr Glinski.
The initiator of the Festival is Polish Radio Kielce, which since 2010 honors artists and folk artists of the Świętokrzyskie region with the award “Jawor at the source of culture. This year’s festival for the first time had a nationwide character and was held under the auspices of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (MKiDN). The festival was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage within the framework of the EthnoPolska programme of the National Centre for Culture.
“Folk culture, i.e. this grassroots, artistic, often amateur activity is still developing in Poland. I would like to thank the artists, people who care about Polish folk culture and its practice and the organisers of this wonderful event”, said Deputy Prime Minister, Professor Piotr Gliński during the award ceremony.
“Folk culture is the salt of culture, the basis of our identity, especially when it is performed at a high level and unites generations through its presentation and creativity”, added the head of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
During the event, Deputy Prime Minister Prof. Piotr Gliński also granted medals “Meritorious for Culture Gloria Artis” to the president of Radio Kielce CEO Janusz Knap and a journalist Magdalena Sitek.
