The Ukrainian edition of the Forbes magazine informed that Poland took first place in the ranking of providing aid to Ukraine. The authors of the list appreciated visits by representatives of Polish authorities to Ukraine, activities in the international political arena and financial support.

The magazine analyzed the actions of many countries and created a ranking assessing which countries are most involved in aid, based on 11 criteria: voting at the UN General Assembly on the demand for the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine, recognition of Russia’s actions against Ukraine as genocide, the expulsion of Russian diplomats, Russia entering the country on the list of “hostile countries” and the amount of financial assistance provided Ukraine in absolute amounts and as a percentage of the country’s GDP, as well as visits by high-ranking government officials to Ukraine from February 24 to May 30, and opposition to the imposition of sanctions against Russia.

According to the ranking, 40 countries noticeably help Ukraine to resist Russian aggression – some provide weapons, others introduce anti-Russian sanctions, and still, others help financially or expel Russian diplomats. The attitude of the government of a given country, not always identical to the opinion of citizens, was also taken into account. As an example, “Forbes” pointed Georgia, where the government does not take any measures against Russia, despite the thousands of demonstrations of support for Ukraine.

The first place was taken by Poland, with 97 out of 100 possible points for voting at the United Nations in favour of withdrawing Russian troops, introducing sanctions against Russia, closing airspace for Russian aircraft, participating in the Ramstein conference, and adding Russia to the list of hostile countries, expelling 45 Russian diplomats, providing aid of 3, $ 1 billion (0.46% of GDP) and the fact that both the president and the prime minister visited Ukraine.

The United States was second (96 points), and Estonia (95) came third. The top ten also includes: Latvia (94), Canada (88), Lithuania 88), the United Kingdom (88), Slovakia (82), the Czech Republic (81) and Portugal, which closed the top ten, with 78 points.
