Every third student receives psychological and pedagogical help, and 9% of children and adolescents under the age of 18 have mental disorders that require professional help. 4% of students are covered by special education (185 775 people), and over 66 thousand kids are provided with early development support. kids.
The growing needs of students mean that it is necessary to coordinate aid activities, including those provided at an early stage, and to appropriately allocate funds in the state budget to meet the needs of children and students and to use money more effectively.
Deputy Minister Marzena Machałek, who was present at the conference, emphasized the complementarity of aid activities related to supporting children and youth. She talked about providing additional specialist classes for students and launching new postgraduate studies financed by the ministry and funds provided in the state budget to increase the number of psychologists and educators in schools.
“We are also introducing the position of a special educator in public schools. It is very important to help the family early when it finds out that their child may be disabled”, emphasized the deputy minister.
Most children with disabilities (64.6%) attend public schools, so it is important to act for high-quality education for all.
