The WB Group, a Polish manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems, has signed a long-term contract for the production of unmanned systems and loitering ammunition in Georgia. The first systems produced by the Polish-Georgian venture will be delivered to the user this year.
The Delta-WB joint venture will be the supplier of unmanned systems to the Georgian armed forces. This is an entity based in Tbilisi, in which 50% of shares are owned by the state-owned company Delta International, the owner of the remaining 50% there is a Polish WB Group.
The Georgian-Polish agreement was signed in the capital of Georgia. Poland was represented by the president of the WB Group, Piotr Wojciechowski, and the Georgian side was represented by Deputy Defense Minister Giorgi Chaindrawa and the director of the state-owned concern STK Delta Zurab Jawelidze
The Polish-Georgian program will provide unmanned reconnaissance systems and loitering ammunition. According to the adopted schedule, by the end of 2022, the Georgian armed forces will receive the first of the ordered drones.
According to the portal, a training center with the necessary equipment will also be created based on the Delta-WB company. The center will provide services to the Georgian armed forces in initial training as well as maintenance and improvement of the skills of unmanned systems operators. The company will be responsible for the modernization and repair of delivered solutions. If necessary, it will also provide a warranty service.
The WB Group is the largest Polish producer of unmanned aerial systems used by the Polish Armed Forces. This equipment is combat-tested, also in the conditions of a full-scale conflict. The WB Group’s offer includes both multi-task unmanned systems, such as FlyEye and FT-5, Warmate loitering ammunition and other shock and search and attack systems.
