“Ukraine is inviting Poland to take an active part in the reconstruction of settlements and infrastructure facilities in those regions of Ukraine that have suffered significant damage as a result of Russian aggression”, said the head of the Chancellery of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak in Kyiv after a meeting with the Secretary of State, Head of the International Policy Bureau at the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Jakub Kumoch.

“We talked about Poland’s security and economic support for Ukraine. Together, we oppose the aggression of the Russian Federation, because today Ukraine protects against Russian aggression not only itself but also the whole of Europe, its common values, freedom and democracy”, stated Andriy Yermak.

The head of the Chancellery of the President of Ukraine expressed his gratitude “for the unprecedented support for Ukraine from the Republic of Poland since the first hours of the full-scale Russian invasion.”

Both politicians also discussed the strengthening of cooperation in security and the future architecture of the security guarantee system after the war.

Andrij Yermak noted that Ukraine is currently actively cooperating with Poland in order to build new logistic routes, speed up cargo clearance procedures and increase the capacity on the common border.

“I am grateful to our Polish friends for their leadership on Ukraine’s membership of the EU. I expect that the decision of the European Union to grant our country the status of a candidate country will be adopted as soon as possible”, emphasized Jermak and expressed his conviction that the current “mutual support between Kyiv and Warsaw creates a unique opportunity for a new stage in bilateral relations, to overcome historical barriers and make a significant progress in all matters of bilateral cooperation”.
