The Amica Group, the Polish manufacturer of household appliances and the Flower of Femininity organization have just launched the new Badabus, a mobile diagnostic station, for its first tour of the country.
In a vehicle funded by the Amica Group and Volvo company, women can undergo preventive examinations for ovarian or cervical cancer, and men – tests to detect prostate cancer.
“To prevent, not to cure – this simple rule reminds us that prevention is more beneficial to our health, and often more effective than treatment. However, thousands of Polish women and men forget about it. Annually, more than 5,500 women die from ovarian or cervical cancer due to late detection of an abnormality, and the same number of men die from prostate cancer.
Meanwhile, regular examinations can save lives. That is why Amica and the Polish Organization of the Flower of Femininity encourage Polish women and Poles to undergo preventive examinations at Badabus – a mobile medical station.
“We have been cooperating with the Flower of Femininity for several years because we know how important it is to undergo regular examinations. The idea of Badabus is that it can reach any place including events, workplaces, offices, institutions or shopping malls. We are very pleased that this year, for the first time, men will also be able to use the possibility of performing preventive examinations”, says Maciej Krzysztoszek, Corporate Communications and ESG Manager at Amica Group.
