The 15th Mastercard OFF Camera festival, one of the largest events of this type in this part of Europe, will take place in Krakow from April 29 to May 8.

The Krakow event is distinguished among other world festivals by record-high awards and the promotion of independent cinema.

The Mastercard OFF Camera festival refers to the principles and tradition of the American festival of independent cinema Sundance.

“In the film fiesta in Krakow, viewers from all over the world focus on independent, brave cinema, both in terms of content and form, with fluently narrated, fascinating stories” – emphasize the organizers. The crucial part of the festival is the Main Competition “Making Way”, in which ten debutants and authors with two completed films compete for the Krakow Film Award – $ 25,000, awarded by an international jury.

The event attracts the hottest names in the film industry. An important element of the program is the Polish Feature Film Competition, in which the best Polish productions of the last season compete for the dFlights award in the amount of PLN 100,000.

Mastercard OFF Camera provides also a series of workshops, lectures and discussions related to the films shown and specific sections, as well as industry meetings. Many directors of films presented during the festival come to Krakow to meet and talk with the audience. The organizer of the International Festival of Independent Cinema Mastercard OFF Camera is the OFF Camera Foundation, which has been supporting independent cinema and its creators from the very beginning, giving young film adepts an opportunity to take their first steps in the film industry. In the Mastercard OFF CAMERA festival, the Foundation co-organizes a competition for amateur filmmakers # 63PL and a competition for young scriptwriters, SCRIPT PRO.
