Pawe\u0142 Majewski, President of the Management Board of PGNiG SA emphasizes that in March PGNiG will receive at the President Lech Kaczy\u0144ski terminal as many as five LNG deliveries. This is a record amount of LNG. The company has never before purchased so many deliveries of liquefied natural gas in one month.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe possibility of importing LNG from reliable, trustworthy partners is of particular importance in the current situation from the point of view of the security of fuel supplies. The role of liquefied natural gas in PGNiG’s imports will continue to grow in the Polish energy mix. It will also be possible thanks to the expansion of the gas terminal in \u015awinouj\u015bcie, where this year PGNiG has reserved regasification capacity at the level of 6.2 billion cubic meters annually. That’s over a billion cubic meters more than before\u201d, explained Pawe\u0142 Majewski.<\/p>\n
Most of the cargo that PGNiG will receive in March in \u015awinouj\u015bcie will be purchased as spot transaction. Nevertheless, the first delivery was made under a long-term contract with Qatargas. On March 3, the Al Huwaila methane carrier arrived at the gas terminal in \u015awinouj\u015bcie with a load of 90 thousand tonnes, which after regasification will provide 120 million cubic meters natural gas.<\/p>\n
This is the sixth delivery of LNG to \u015awinouj\u015bcie this year and the 154th delivery since the terminal’s launch. The total volume of blue fuel that PGNiG has received at the gas terminal so far amounts to approximately 17 billion cubic meters. Last year, LNG made about a quarter of PGNiG’s import volume.<\/p>\n
