The European Commission launched this programme under the IPCEI (Important Projects of Common European Interest) initiative. Seven Member States including Poland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Slovakia are participating in the project. The Commission expects the increase in hydrogen supply to accelerate the implementation of the European Green Deal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The European Commission&#8217;s notification decision was issued under the IPCEI Hy2Infra programme and confirms funding of up to \u20ac142.77 million. This is the maximum ceiling of state aid for the H2Silesia project, which is being implemented by Polenergia&#8217;s hydrogen team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Polenergia is the only Polish company that will participate in the Hy2Infra programme. This is a very important message for the market and our investors. The decision of the European Commission significantly increases the value of the project. Renewable hydrogen to be produced through H2Silesia is a natural extension of Polenergia&#8217;s value chain. Hydrogen as a green energy carrier can accelerate the shift away from fossil fuels and the construction of a zero-carbon economy. It is the fuel of the future&#8221;, said Iwona Sier\u017c\u0119ga, a member of Polenergia S.A.&#8217;s Management Board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The H2Silesia project envisages the construction of a large-scale green hydrogen production facility with a capacity of about 105 MW, which will enable the production of about 13,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year. The project in Upper Silesia aims to provide renewable hydrogen for heavy industry and zero-emission transport.
