By 2025, Poland’s first biomethane plant fully based on Polish technological thought will be built in K\u0119dzierzyn-Ko\u017ale. The infrastructure will ensure the production of biomethane of the highest standard without causing methane emissions into the atmosphere.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After a long period of intensive preparation and conceptual and design work, \u0141ukasiewicz – Institute of New Chemical Syntheses (INS) is embarking on a groundbreaking project. This is the result of cooperation with Envirogas, which is the investor, and “Clean Region” Sp. z o.o., on whose premises a modern biomethane plant will be built.<\/span><\/p>\n

The installation will use specialised sorbents developed by scientists from \u0141ukasiewicz – INS. These are substances that are used in the chemical industry to purify synthesis gases.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The project will significantly contribute to reducing emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. Thanks to the applied technology, it will be possible not only to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, but also not to cause additional methane emissions, which today go into the atmosphere during such production. ‘Thus, our solution is in line with the climate policy, being an important step in the realisation of goals related to the reduction of climate change and the promotion of sustainable development’, said Dr Eng. Bartosz Moszowski, Director of the NitroSynCat Research and Development Centre at \u0141ukasiewicz – INS, author of the project concept.<\/span><\/p>\n

The biomethane produced by the modular installation will meet the highest quality standards, in line with the requirements of the leading gas pipeline operators and gas suppliers in Poland. Unlike natural gas, it is a renewable source, which makes it more environmentally friendly.<\/span><\/p>\n
