“Photovoltaic and wind power plants will play a key role in Tauron’s generation mix after 2030. Including the Postomino farm, we have three photovoltaic farms under construction with a total capacity of 200 MW and five wind farms with a capacity of over 160 MW. Great opportunities in the development of RES are offered by cable pooling. The combination of RES sources in this form may translate into the optimisation of the use of connection capacities of the sources and greater profitability of investments”, says Tauron Group President Pawe\u0142 Szczeszek.<\/p>\n
The Postomino farm will consist of 135,000 photovoltaic panels, each with a capacity of 665 Wp. As expected, the energy produced by the farm will cover the electricity needs of 46,000 households. Later this year, the company will start the implementation of the first stage of the investment with a capacity of 80 MW, and by the end of the first half of 2024, the works contractor will start the construction of another 10 MW.<\/p>\n
In addition to the Postomino farm, the Tauron Group is building two photovoltaic farms: the Prosz\u00f3wek farm with a capacity of 55 MW and the second stage of the farm in Mys\u0142owice with a capacity of approximately 60 MW. In 2030, the Group is planning to operate 3,700 MW installed in wind, photovoltaic and hydroelectric power plants. This will constitute approximately 80 % of the Group’s total generation mix.<\/p>\n
Tauron Polska Energia is a holding company in the Group, which is engaged in coal mining, generation, distribution and sale of electricity and heat. The Tauron Group covers 18 % of the country and is the largest energy distributor and one of the largest business entities in Poland. The company had revenues of PLN 36.31 billion in 2022.<\/p>\n
