According to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces (RSZ), an unidentified aerial object flew into Poland’s airspace from the Ukrainian border in the morning hours. From the moment it crossed the border until the point where the signal disappeared, it was observed by the radiolocation means of the country’s air defence system. In accordance with the procedures in force, the RSZ Operational Commander activated the available forces and means at his disposal.<\/p>\n
Also on the same day, a briefing was held at the National Security Office with the participation of President Andrzej Duda, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence W\u0142adys\u0142aw Kosiniak-Kamysz, Chief of General Staff General Wies\u0142aw Kuku\u0142a and Operational Commander of the RSZ General Maciej Klisz.<\/p>\n
“All organs of the state are cooperating and undertaking appropriate tasks. This is our most important matter – to ensure the security of Poland and Poles and cooperate for the sake of security”, stressed Deputy Prime Minister W\u0142adys\u0142aw Kosiniak-Kamysz.<\/p>\n
As the Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces Gen. Maciej Klisz explained, the foreign object was in Polish airspace for less than three minutes and then returned to Ukrainian territory.<\/p>\n
In the evening, Deputy Foreign Minister W\u0142adys\u0142aw Teofil Bartoszewski summoned charg\u00e9 d’affaires of the Russian Federation Andrei Ordash and handed him a note in which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs demands an explanation of the incident involving the violation of the airspace of the Republic of Poland by a cruise missile and the immediate cessation of such activities.<\/p>\n
